gtools
Tools and teaching for statistical genetics
gtools brings together gsuite, gsim, gact and gteach. Explore analysis tools and teaching materials through methods, examples and documentation.
| Project | What it provides | Website |
|---|---|---|
| gsuite | Statistical genetics analysis, mixed models and reusable computational libraries | Explore gsuite |
| gsim | Simulation of genotypes, pedigrees and phenotypes | Explore gsim |
| gact | Genomic association data and biological annotation workflows | Explore gact |
| gteach | Teaching materials, lecture notes, slides and computational demonstrations in genetics, genomics and statistical modelling | Explore gteach |
gsuite is the ecosystem and documentation umbrella. Seven standalone genomic R packages are available from its source repository. gsim and gact are public packages with their own websites and repositories. gteach provides R- and Quarto-based teaching materials through its own website. R packaging for the native greml and gsolve libraries is deferred; separate or combined packaging remains undecided. A root gsuite R package release is not currently planned.
Start with gsuite
- Capabilities: available analyses, R access and limits.
- Tutorials: standalone package workflows and development examples.
- Guides: method and data-preparation detail.
- Software validation: focused simulation checks and current limits.
- Benchmarks: comparison with DMU, including the runtime figure.
- Package availability: available source packages and installation requirements.
- Presentations: slides about AI-assisted research and software development.
The project websites remain independently maintained. gtools provides a shared entry point; it does not duplicate the gsim, gact or gteach websites.
